The weekend started off with a bang - a "special day" at daycare! Sue told me about this "special day" back when it was warm out - she made sure to spell S-A-N-T-A just in case. Ha - I don't think Annie was too thrilled. What you can't see in this photo is that Sue's husband Barry is right next to Annie - that was the only way she'd consent to sitting on his lap. This was all before we got there even - by the time we got there she was running around like a maniac, throwing a piece of plastic from her present in front of her and cackling with glee every time. I asked if she wanted to see Santa again and she just said "No" - fine then :)

Chaos at daycare! (No, that is not a beer in his hand - it's a pipe that blows bubbles :)

We then went to a game night at Ben's work - Annie ran around there too, and loved this little spot that she fit just perfectly in.

I had to leave after an hour to go to another gathering, but Ben said Annie had a great time running around with all the other kids the whole night!

The next day we were going to try out a tiny bakery near our house for pastries for my party, but they were closed, so we hit up Key's instead - Annie didn't seem to mind the change :)

Annie spent a lot of time this weekend wearing antlers and running around making a noise like "hooooooooooooooahhhhhhhhhh" like she was flying :) hilarious!

She also had to switch her new Christmas socks frequently (gifts from Sue from the day before) - and loved watching me bake (until she slipped while standing on the chair - oops!)

A makeshift apron for Annie!

On Sunday, we went out to brunch, and then Ben decided to wash the floors (much needed) so Annie's chair got moved to the couch. She was very excited.

I made 3 kinds of cookies over the weekend - it vaguely reminded me of my "relaxing day off" a few years ago where I made 5-6 kinds of cookies by myself in one day. YOWZA. Making cookies is an ORDEAL. But they tasted good and my coworkers appreciated them, so whatever! Saturday I made peanut butter blossoms, and Sunday I made gingerbread men and sugar cookies. Honestly, my main motivation for baking was that these are 3 of my favorite Christmas cookies and I like the ones I make the best so .... this ensures I get what I want :) ha!

Annie was an ace at helping decorate :) For about 20 minutes, then she kept just wanting to eat the sprinkles so I sent her on her way :)

I decorated the exact amount needed for my coworker boxes and then froze the rest to decorate/eat over Christmas weekend. Because wow... that takes a long time. And as you can see, I wasn't very... uh, artistic about it :)

The contents of each cookie box!

This was empty :)

Bringing good cheer to the office!

Gah, falling off the chair in the kitchen is a weekly occurrence for us and I hate it every time. But it's worth it to have little dude help me out I guess. Those cookies are making me drool, btw.
i wish i worked at your office and got a cookie box....
What a great Santa! I love her smile with the sprinkles... it is like she know she is getting more in her belly soon.
I wish I worked with you. Peanut blossoms are one of my favorites. :)
We skipped Santa this year knowing full well it would only cause a meltdown. Not worth it to put him through such torture.
You are the best coworker ever. I am jealous for sure.
Seriously Annie just keeps getting cuter and cuter, the antlers? ADORABLE. She has the greatest smile.
After thinking about going to see Santa somewhere we decided to just skip it. I know Gus would be hysterical and terrified and PISSED, so yeah, why put any of us through that? Maybe next year... I feel a little guilty though as I see people post their santa pics on facebook, but that's completely ridiculous because their kids are usually pissed too.
Yeah, we were glad that Santa came to daycare and that she even HAD sat on his lap at all, even if it was before we got there (thankfully one of the other moms snapped the pic) - I thought for sure she wouldn't do it at all. We've basically decided to hold off on Santa ("real" Santa, not at daycare or my neighbor dressed up like we did last year) until Annie actually asks to go. If she ever says she doesn't want to, we sure aren't going to force the issue!
Just found your blog this morning and I love it! I am AMAZED at how often y'all cook (we got fed)! Tell me, any tips on cooking with an almost 2 year old? Mine is so demanding at that time of day!
Annie is a doll!!
