At my 30th birthday brunch! (a bit early - my birthday is on Friday) - more to come on that event. Also, this is the first time I've ever tried the whole "belt over the bump" concept. I felt a bit like a fraud, because I'm SO not fashionable. The belt is from my sister, obviously - I don't own things like that :)
Due Date: February 27, 2012
Weight Gain: Oh, I'm guessing it won't be pretty at my midwife appointment on Wednesday. Looking at some pics of myself from this weekend, I feel I'm getting a bit of pregnancy fat face - certainly not too bad, and it may just be the neckline of that particular sweater, but...... eh, it's there. Oh well. I know every pregnancy is different, but I gained ~31lbs with Annie, and had lost that and then some by my 6 week post-partum visit, so I'm just not too worried about it, although it is a bit disconcerting and mildly alarming to see the scale jump up so much.
Symptoms: Just the usual - out of breath quickly, get sore by the end of the day. I'm feeling now that my bladder is never truly empty, which is annoying. I already had been bending over so I'm parallel to the floor to get those last drops out, but even that's not working anymore.
What's different this time: I was thinking about how this baby boy is already benefiting from being a second child, even in utero! He's getting read to and sang to on a daily basis, when Annie in utero got that never. It always felt way too weird to me to read to my belly with her, but he obviously is reaping the benefits from Annie's love of books and songs.
Cravings/Aversions: Eating normally. It's weird how feeling sick was just ~10 weeks ago, but yet I can almost forget it happened. The amnesia is coming sooner this time, I guess.
Sleep: Not great. Lots going on this week meant a busy mind, so I didn't sleep well. I was also up 2 times a few nights to go to the bathroom instead of just 1. Also, this little guy loves to move around basically all night! Last night, I was holding Ben for awhile when we first got into bed, then informed him that I was going to roll over (it's become a production lately) - his response? "Good, because baby boy is keeping me awake" - aw, poor Ben. I felt really bad for him ;)
I am loving: my friends and family - I'm definitely lucky to have so many people who care about me and who I love to surround me during this holiday season!
I miss: Writing this We Got Served review made me miss eggs benedict... That was one of the MAJOR things I missed when pregnant the first time, but I guess I got used to it this time (plus, for the first 20 weeks, it wouldn't have even been a possibility anyway I guess) - sometimes though, when I see a really good benedict, I can't wait to be able to have it again!
I am looking forward to: the rest of this week - birthday dinner, my actual birthday on Friday, and of course, celebrating Christmas this weekend!
I'm spazzing about: nothing. Luckily, no repeats of the whole "wanting to be fed like a baby" incident from last week!
Best thing about this week: Definitely my 30th birthday brunch on Saturday! It was so much fun and reminded me of just how lucky I am (as mentioned above) to have so many amazing friends and family that are able to come celebrate my birthday with me. Again, I'll be posting more about that event later this week :)
Milestones: This isn't a milestone, but I find it kind of cool that I'm turning 30 the same week that I'm 30 weeks pregnant :)
Movement: Lots - and it seems to somehow spread through my entire belly now. A few times last week, I felt some movements near my cervix, on the side of my belly, and in my ribs AT THE SAME TIME. Really stretching out in there, I guess! Very curious to hear his position at my appointment.
It's a...: boy
Exercise: I had a day off on Tuesday, and went to Mall of America and Ikea - a workout for sure. Then I got a prenatal massage, which was nearly brutal, so that also felt like a workout :) Any event (like Macy's/Holidazzle) that involves a lot of standing and waiting in lines feels like exercise to me! I did also do prenatal yoga this morning - I SO did not want to go but of course after it was over I was glad. I registered for a few sessions and had to pick different dates/times than I normally go but I'm glad I'm making myself go a few times during the holidays even though life is really busy.
Diet: Threw this one back on here because the Christmas treats are just insane - not a day goes by that I don't get something else to nibble on, and usually many things! I'm trying hard to ration the things I know will keep until January so I don't eat ALL of them at once.

Obviously I love it! Super cute mama!
Cute picture! I'm definitely not the fashionable pregnant lady either, mostly in my super comfy lounge pants on the weekends, but the belt looks really cute on you! I also thought the other day how much different it is that this baby is getting read to and sung to everyday. I tried it a couple times while pregnant with Allie, but it felt too weird, so mostly we just talked to her... for some reason, that wasn't quite as weird!
Also... why do I constantly see your weekly updates and think, "she's so far along," yet feel like my pregnancy is just dragging.
Snowpeas - that IS funny, especially considering you are a few weeks further along than me! Ha! I know what you mean, though!
I think you look freaking adorable! You can totally pull off the belt look :).
Weren't you just 29 weeks?! Goodness this is flying by! And, happy almost birthday!
You look cute! I love the sweater.
Ahh to be young again! I'm only 33 but 30 sounds so much younger. ;) You look super cute. About the pee... try leaning to the side, that's what I do!
you aren't a fraud with the belt--love it. And yay for being the big 3-0 while also in your golden week of pg. Great timing, lady!! :)
Ugh! I didn't know you weren't supposed to eat eggs benedict when pregnant. I just had eggs benedict for breakfast yesterday. After reading up on it, I also didn't know that it had uncooked egg yolks in the hollaindaise. Yuck. Not sure I will be eating that again, even after the baby comes.
I love that you guys all lined up by due date--so cute!
