Yesterday was my niece and newphew's first birthday party. Many of you may know the story behind these two little fighters, who were
born at 29 weeks after finding out that their brother, Ian Gregory, had died in utero due to absent end umbilical diastolic flow (basically he wasn't getting enough from the placenta to grow properly). My sister-in-law wrote a
beautiful post to them on her blog today, and after reading it all it is kind of shocking to remember everything that family has been through in the past year (really, more than a year, since Becca was on hospital bed rest for awhile too, and obviously triplets is a high-risk pregnancy).
Grace Kaye on her birth day, 3 lbs, 1 oz
Samuel James, 2 lbs, 13 oz
And here they are today (well, yesterday) - you all saw tons of pics of them in my last post, too, of course, but they are healthy and happy babies who are doing so amazing! It's been a joy to see them grow and grow and grow this past year!
They got special PKU friendly cupcakes - apparently every baby with PKU gets a low-phe cupcake mix mailed to them for their birthdays!
Beautiful painting from Laura, clearly Sam and Grace are into it

Happy One Year!! What a great celebration. ;)
wow, how far they've come! Such a reason to celebrate, too.
Wow, she's just as big as Annie! So, for a premature baby, that's really, really great.
Thanks for the post Erin!!! :) Seeing those pics from the day they were born...hoooooboy. We've come a long way baby.
