She just loves eating apples, but has a hard time actually ingesting them. It is a fool proof way of entertaining her for a long time - just give her an apple and she'll work on it for an hour!

Uh oh - gotta reign in that cheese face - I used to do the exact same thing - think I was smiling when really I looked like I was in pain :) Anyway, she climbed up on my lap because at this point in time she is PETRIFIED of small dogs - to the point of shaking and screaming when one even comes NEAR her. It is very annoying and irrational, but that's toddler behavior for you!!
While we went out to sushi on Monday, Annie hung out at Nate & Molly's and helped make pizza balls - SO CUTE!! She loves "helping" now - also I guess it took awhile for her to agree to stand on the chair - she's used to getting yelled at for that ;) ha! Such a little rule follower!
Rolling out the dough!

Annie has been LOVING reading books now - I really thought the day would never come, but now she loves them and asks us to read books to her again and again. She can also sit down with a book and entertain herself by reading it to herself or looking at the pictures. SUCH an awesome development, finally!
I am a Bunny, one of her favorites
I Spy Little Bunnies, another huge hit that I thought she'd NEVER comprehend, but all the sudden she's started pointing out all the objects and being able to match them up. Even upside down ;)

I busted this old guy out to bring to Laura, since her "little" 3 month old guy has already outgrown the bumbo in thigh circumference :) Annie was THRILLED to see an old friend (although she never liked it when little) and enjoyed playing with it before I meanly took it away.

But don't worry, I brought home a suitable replacement and put it in the basement after she went to bed :)

Annie greatly enjoys rags and burp cloths, and setting up her baby. I was inside last weekend, and when I came back out on the porch, this is what I returned to - Annie worked diligently on this for nearly 20+ minutes. The bib was not on the baby before either, so I was pleased that she added it, as well as a bowl of "food" for her to eat :)

She was very proud

Still likes to lay down on a dish towel and go night night. Daycare Sue was sick yesterday and I was attempting to work with Annie at home, so I let her do this just as much as she wanted :)

Don't worry, her other baby gets to eat sometimes too. Again, all of this is done without any suggestion or help from me at all!

And then, she read her baby doll a story and I about died from the cuteness. Yes, she got very frustrated trying to get her into position correctly (turns out dolls don't have good support of their bodies - weird!) but she managed and it all worked out for both of them.

Oh, voluntary cuddles - I have been waiting 20 months for you and I'm so glad you are here finally now if only for fleeting moments!
After reading Goodnight Moon nightly for her entire lifetime, she's finally loving it. I read on a friend's blog that her daughter Annie's age LOVES finding the mouse on each page, so I started asking her where it was (as I mentioned in my day in the life) and now she goes and finds the book and sits with it several times a day to find him over, and over, and over again.

cutest post everrrrrrrr
sister
Awww that is so sweet!! It gives me so much to look forward to - at almost 8 mos. Jane is not a cuddler either and it makes me sad.
Hahaa and I just discovered this apple trick yesterday! She's cutting her 2nd tooth and gnawed on that slice of apple for like 15 minutes.
Cutie Patootie!
Sooo cute!
cannot get over her cheese smile and her general cuteness. Stop it already!!
Oh apples this fall have been a godsend. The other day Gus ate an ENTIRE apple, over the course of, like 45 minutes. Seeds, core, and all. We were a little disturbed by his consumption of the whole thing, and watching him like a hawk to make sure he didn't choke on something, but my depression-era grandma would be proud. She's big on not wasting food, particularly any part of an apple.
Also, Annie reading to her baby about killed me with the cuteness. And setting up the baby with a bowl of food? Just the coolest thing ever. She is so cute, and so smart.
Love it! Fantastic job on finding the mouse Annie!
