Daycare was closed both Friday and Tuesday - since Ben and I wanted to save our vacation for a longer time off later in the summer, my parents agreed to take Annie up to the cabin with them on Thursday night. She hadn't taken a car trip longer than an hour since we went up to the cabin last August, so I was a little nervous that she wouldn't sleep the whole way anymore.... and nope, she didn't. She apparently slept for an hour, then woke up and played with a purse and wallet and her sippy cup for the rest of the time with "a few squawks" here and there. So basically she was up until 10pm. Yikes! Of course she was fine the next day though, even though my dad got her up at 7:30 because he thought she was awake, aka, he wanted to play :) Apparently she was a perfect angel, even during diaper changes. Sigh. Thanks for reserving your flailing tantrums just for us, Annie! Thanks to my dad for taking a few pics and recording her mythical "walking" that I didn't believe until I got up there and saw it with my own eyes.
Crazy how much better she got at this just by Tuesday! Now she's pretty much a pro.
We came up Friday night after rush hour was over. The rest of the weekend was spent sitting on the deck, or on the couch, or on the pontoon, sometimes out in the garage. Pretty much all we all did was eat, cook and watch Annie play. Ben, Annie and I took one walk, and my mom and I ventured to Nisswa to walk through the shops once. That's it! We stayed through Tuesday and missed all the traffic. Left at naptime and Annie again only slept for an hour. Oh well. She survived!
Wants me to clip her hair bow on her finger. Of course!
Ben made Annie a little Adirondack chair and was assembling it this weekend.
New puzzle from Grandma
Liz had to hold on tight to this one lest she throw herself into the lake. Yikes!
Loves trying to get my lens cap on
Annie is a wee bit frightened of dogs, but I think the weekend with Maggie did her good. Until our neighbor's new puppy jumped on her the other day. No damage was done but she seemed a bit freaked!
Annie the mooch
BFFs
Ben ended up getting a little assistance - so both Grandpa's and Ben had a hand in making this chair!
She went right for it!
Got to see a beautiful double rainbow that night
Annie wasn't the best at getting OUT of this chair (it's a bit narrow already) so she'd just reach for things and grunt when she wanted them. How fun :)
Yummy monkey bread made by my mom
In the big Adirondack chair!
Annie was EXTREMELY thrilled to be in her life jacket - it says it goes until 35 lbs but it already feels really tight and Annie is only maybe 22 lbs
With Uncle Jono
Kisses for Aunt Liz
We took our time with this one, but eventually she got to the top
Figuring out how to lounge
Just stopped to check the score of the tennis game
Walking down the driveway
Handing Grandma some rocks and saying "tink oo"
A little bird's nest!
Lilacs are scary
Matching pigtails!
Annie loves walking over to us and hugging our legs - so cute :)

The chair! The life jacket! It's all just too much cuteness.
Her facial expressions and mannerisms remind me so much of Isaac. :)
Lens cap! It's so fun to see the similarities and the differences in our kids since they are so close in age. Riley has an Adirondack chair too (but not nearly as nice) that she loves to sit in. She can get herself into it, but hasn't mastered getting out. However, instead of grunting she usually starts screaming at us. Lovely. I especially love the picture where Annie is lounging in her chair. Too cute!
I love that last photo so much... little walker pro now!
Seriously, could Annie have any more personality?! I love it and this is coming from a mama who thinks her child pretty much owns the personality category lol.
The "wanting to clip the hair bow" on her finger and "Annie the mooch" are my favorite!
Tell Ben he's got an order for another chair lol, Annie's is gorgeous!
