Remember when I lamented that I had all these great meals we made, and no motivation to share them here? Well, apparently Ben felt the same way and decided to create a separate food blog for us. I didn't want to overwhelm this blog with posting about our dinners all the time, and Ben hates the search feature on this blog and wanted something better for him to easily find things we've made before and liked. Thus came the creation of a new blog:
We got fed
Yes, a play on our other blog, We got served - Ben's idea :) Ben didn't want to use blogger because of the aforementioned search issue, so we tried tumblr for a bit. Really, we TRIED to like it. But man oh man, do they ever make it hard. The search was even more useless than bloggers, and customization was really cumbersome and difficult. The rss feed wasn't working very well, and overall it just wasn't easy to use, at all. We gave it the ole college try but couldn't get behind it. Wordpress it is!
It's obviously really simple - just what we ate, the modifications we made, and if each of us liked it or not. Nothing fancy, and mostly just for our own record keeping purposes, but if you are looking for new meal ideas, you might get some there! I'll probably still post about my baking projects here, but most cooking posts will be kept over there from now on. Enjoy!

Cool. Bummed that Tumblr didn't work for you guys, but I think you made the right call going with Wordpress.
Although I kinda wish it was all just here. I like the one stop shop.
Yeah, but then I'd have to give Ben access to my lair, and that just wouldn't have been pretty :)
Love this... so glad you did this too because I love trying recipes. I am making the apple-pumpkin muffins right now.
Huzzah! I need some inspiration in the kitchen lately...or maybe it's just energy that I need :) But I'm already loving what you've posted, esp the spanish rice.
Did you go for the full fledged WP or just the free one? I briefly looked into switching over but the costs & effort weren't worth it for me at this point. I'll look into it again in the future.
@Navigating the Mothership:
Wordpress itself is always free. You can start a blog at wordpress.com in minutes and be up and running.
If you want to host it yourself, the wordpress software is free, but you will need to pay someone to host it for you. Wordpress.org has a page that lists some popular hosts that you can use for hosting your own wordpress site:
http://wordpress.org/hosting/
I already used a company called 1and1 for hosting so I just added this new site to my existing sites on this hosting account. I think 1and1 charges me $8 per month for hosting and I've never had a problem with their service.
I'm pretty sure that you can even have a custom domain name with a blog that is hosted at wordpress.com (for free).
Sorry, it's not $8 a month, it's more like $3 a month, I don't know what kind of math I was doing there :)
Thanks for the reply! Will look into 1and1 for hosting services when the time comes to make the switch to WP. I can't remember what my biggest hang up was with changing , but I think it had something to do with me needing so much html help, but not wanting to go with the free WP.com blog. I think that's where the $$ started adding up for me - I would need to get some help with stuff.
