46 Weeks

46 Weeks

We'll see how much of a post I can muster up tonight - this week has been consumed with my sister's wedding yesterday, so I'm pretty beat right now! (thus the weekly pic of Annie in her jammies... because I wish I was in my jammies in bed right now!) I have a great many photos from the wedding, so I will share more of those in a separate post. I actually didn't really get to see too much of Annie this week because it was pretty much all wedding, all the time!

This dress was purchased for Annie before she was even born - Liz had already chosen gray and pink as her colors, so how could we pass it up??

Daycare was off a few days this week, so Ben took Tuesday and Wednesday off to hang out with her - I think they both enjoyed their days off - one day was filled with many errands, and the other was spent hanging out at home. I was off on Thursday and Friday, but Annie still went to daycare because my days were filled with wedding prep activities.

Annie is now exclusively on table food at home and at daycare, so she just eats what we eat - or usually eats what we ate the day before since we usually eat dinner after she goes to bed at 7. She seems to eat pretty much whatever - she really enjoyed a chicken tortilla soup we had. She isn't a huge fan of spoon feeding now, but will usually let us spoon feed her yogurt or applesauce. It gets pretty messy, but Annie is getting better and better at the skill of eating! She also has definitely mastered her sippy cup, with or without handles on it. We still don't put breastmilk in there, but I think over the few days we're home for Christmas, I'm going to try again to give her a sippy cup with milk after her nap.

Weaning was difficult over this week - I went down to pumping only once at work, and by Tuesday (day 4 of being on 3 nursing/pumpings a day) I was still feeling engorged and was getting pretty discouraged that my supply would regulate, but thankfully by the end of the week I'm feeling much more comfortable. Almost everyone I know that has weaned seems to have had a low supply so never had any issues with engorgement whatsoever. While I know how lucky I am to have such a great supply, it is making it quite painful to cut back. I think I'll wait until after Christmas to stop pumping at work altogether. This might mean I'm still nursing once or twice per day while in Mexico, but I'm fine with that - honestly, I think it might be better to have that automatic mute button during the flights anyway! (at least for 15 minutes or so)

New carseat
Very excited about her new carseat - we went with the First Years True Fit because it is tall enough to rear face for quite awhile - it's a SUPER tight fit in the Jetta, but it works!

One awesome development over the past few weeks is Annie's newfound ability to sleep in! She's always been an awesome sleeper, but never really slept too much past 7, if that - for a long time, anything past 6 was awesome. This week, one day she slept from 7pm-8am (!?!???), and most other days she slept until at least 7:15 each day. Awesome! The one day she went to bed late (8), she woke up around 6:15, so we do try to get her to bed by 7:15 at the latest so she can get in all the sleep she needs. We also kind of need her to wake up by 7 so I can get to work, while I'm still nursing at least. Ben and I never sleep in anyway, so 7-7:30 is pretty much perfect for us even on the weekends.

good morning!

Annie had a really great week - she was shuttled to many activities, and was babysat by her Aunt Amanda, and stayed overnight with her Grandparents who helped us out by picking her up at the wedding last night at 6:30pm - she had a busy but fun week... and all while her top 4 teeth were all popping through - joy!

Looking forward to a relaxing next week filled with holiday (and BIRTHDAY!) fun!

1. Thanks for the car seat info. We'll be looking for one in the spring, and it's always nice to know what other people choose.

2. Thanks for also proving my point that "just put them to bed later" does NOT automatically mean they'll sleep later!! (But you already know how much that comment irks me!) Goes to show you, kids need more sleep to sleep later...

Dear Erin:
FYI, you, your grey strapless dress, your jewelry, and your hair up in that elaborate up-do are all very hot!
Also your baby is exponentially more adorable every week. She continues to slay me with cuteness. Pink footie pj's and that huge grin! Come on!!!
Sincerely,
Shannon
