Happy 2010! This was taken at Jake and Allison's New Year's Eve party, where I actually made it to midnight! I had several glasses of sparkling apple cider, and it was ALMOST as good as real champagne...... :) There is exactly ONE MONTH left until my due date today! So far, only Leah has picked the actual due date in the baby poll :) I'm really trying to stay away from thinking of that date as the end date since I know the majority of first-time moms go late and I really have no indication that I'd go early! (Not that I really would...)
Since you can't really see my belly that well in the above pic, I also made Ben snap this one yesterday.

I feel like I've gotten much bigger since last week even - and I know that will just continue to happen each week as baby girl fattens up in there! In keeping with FEELING bigger, the scale also reflected that at my midwife appointment on Monday - up 4.5 pounds in 2 weeks - oops!!! :) I figured that would happen, since I went in the day after 4 days straight of holiday celebrations filled with cookies and other fattening treats. This puts my total at 27 pounds. I'm just kind of hoping to keep it to 35 total and I think I can probably do that.
The rest of my appointment went well - blood pressure still good, baby's heartbeat was a little lower because for once she was resting, and she was still head down, with her back to my back (so she's posterior/sunny side up, I guess). The midwife gave me the option of doing one more 2 week appointment, and then it's every week for me! I scheduled 4 more appointments to bring me up to my due date. I have my Group B Strep screening next time, and have the option of an internal exam to see if any "progress" has been made - I plan to decline because I know it doesn't really tell you anything anyway.
Baby's legs/knees are still right at my ribs, and she frequently pokes them out, and also seems to enjoy sticking her feet or hands out the sides of my belly as if she's trying to escape :) She is SUCH a mover - I don't think I've gone more than maybe 30 minutes without feeling her move in some way for weeks now. Luckily she doesn't actually wake me up at night, but when I AM awake, I can feel her wiggling about in there. Sometimes her movements keep me from falling asleep for awhile, but oh well. The only surefire way to get her to STOP moving is to have someone else put their hand on my belly, or for me to try to take a video of my belly moving. She is apparently quite camera shy, and will surely need to get over THAT very quickly!! I've seriously tried to take probably 30 videos and she ALWAYS stops moving the second I push the button. I just want to record it for my own viewing, because I know I'll forget what it was like as soon as she's out!
I made some good progress on the nursery yesterday - washed all the bedding, blankets and clothes and put a lot more stuff away. We got a rug from Ben's grandparents since they moved, and that is in there now too. More decorating needs to happen, but I feel like we're in a pretty good place! I made a to-do list for before baby with deadlines (1/13 is the date I am full term, 37 weeks) and we started crossing them off yesterday:
-Assemble pack-n-play (by 1/13)
-Assemble swing (? not needed by birth, but needed in first 2 weeks)
-Install Carseat (by 1/13)
-Clean Erin's car
-Inspect carseat (by 1/13)
-Wash clothes/blankets (by 1/13)
-Touch up paint in nursery (asap after new windows)
-Remove paint from floor in nursery (asap)
-Organize closet (?)
-Create baby space upstairs (changing area) (by 1/13)
-Buy remaining necessary baby items (extra base, burp cloths, monitor, diaper pail) (?)
-Get stroller from AV, assemble (not needed for a few months)
-Prepare hospital bag (late Jan)
-Finish decorating (late Jan)
-Prepare Freezer meals (throughout Jan)
-Purchase and install new ceiling fan (?)
The final countdown begins!

I think your list should be edited to include "Remove paint from floor that Jono carelessly tracked around by stepping on paint puddles with his socks"
just a thought :)
