Quite a variety for being so early in the season!
Scapes!
We had seen what we were getting a few days earlier on the website, so we already planned to make Salmon Pesto Pasta with Garlic Scape Pesto (this time we used pine nuts instead of walnuts). Words can't express how good this meal is - seriously one of my favorites.

We were MUCH better about actually using our box well this time, so more recipes to come! :)

Can you subsitute any nut in pesto? I realize that pine nuts are the most likey the one that most use but I hadn't heard of subsituting... does that really work? If so, that totally rocks my socks off! :)
I'm not sure if ANY nut will work, but I have seen walnuts and pine nuts used most often! You could give it a try and report back :)
Wow - the scapes pesto sounds delish! My wife and I are doing a CSA this year too and we had never seen scapes before. What a tasty treat!
