Got junk? Yes we did.

Last week, Ben decided that instead of getting a dumpster, we'd pay someone else to take all of the junk out of our upstairs and haul it away for us. We used 1-800-GOT-JUNK and they did a great job. It was two college aged guys and it took them about 2.5 hours. Knowing us, it would have taken us 2.5 days.

Nice lawn huh?? Yeah, we're focusing on the inside of our house right now :)

After that was done, we went to our 3rd of 6 weddings of the summer. It was beautiful! Congrats to Ben's cousin Mikey and his new wife Amelia!

Since there was a break between the ceremony and reception in Stillwater, we stopped at Stones and had a few drinks with the siblings.

The reception was at Outing Lodge - very pretty!

Sunday we decided to brave the wind and take a walk around Lake Calhoun. I haven't walked around there for awhile - I used to live right across the street so it was kind of fun to be back in my old 'hood. I definitely do not miss the parking situation in that area though!

These dudes were fighting a LOSING battle - their kayaks were actually going backwards because of the wind. Hopefully they made it back eventually!

After that, and a delicious brunch at Barbette (to be reviewed on We Got Served soon!), I went to volunteer for a few hours. Ben cooked up this delicious shrimp stir fry while I was gone - the snap or snow peas (not sure which they were) are from our CSA.

Stir Fry

I asked Ben for the recipe to put in this post - here is what he provided.

1 package of stir fry sauce mix (add water, soy sauce, sugar, and 4 cloves garlic)
some pea pods
5 green onions
1 can water chestnuts
1 green pepper
1 lb shrimp
2 cups of rice

mix rice and water on low boil, while that's boiling make the stir fry

mix the sauce and set aside

chop up all the veggies

remove the shells and tails off shrimp

add 1 tbsp oil to wok and let it get hot. stir fry the veggies for 3-4 minutes

remove veggies

add 1 tbsp oil and stir fry shrimp for 1-2 minutes

put the veggies back in and add the sauce for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce thickens a bit

dish over the rice

eat.

done.

He is nothing if not thorough! Now, don't forget to eat it! and then, you're done :)

I love the hodge podge! Because it's all pretty - even the Got Junk vehicle! We've been contemplating calling them as well!

Look how clear your floor is! That's got to be an awesome feeling!

Lol at the thoroughness of the recipe!
