Company picnic

I had my work picnic this week on Nicollet Island. I used the opportunity to walk there from downtown, walking on the north (??) side of the Hennepin Avenue Bridge so that I could get some good shots of the Grain Belt Beer sign. I'm working on getting as many "Minneapolis Icons" photos as I can before the summer is over. So far I have a ways to go... this summer is going by way too fast. But now I have 2 more, the Grain Belt sign, and the Hennepin Avenue Bridge. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day.

Grain Belt Beer
(a fun fact - it took me 5 tries to get "BEER" to not be cut off in the shot on this one because I was zoomed all the way to 300mm and my hand was shaking too much)

Hennepin Ave Bridge

After that little walk was the company party, which included games such as human foosball and some jumpy thing involving velcro. I did not participate.

I convinced Kelley, Jamie, Leigh, and Chandra to walk back downtown with me via Main St. and the Stone Arch Bridge for more photo ops. I love this area of Minneapolis - it is so beautiful!

I absolutely love seeing the city through your eye! Great photos! In my opinion you got 3 icons, including the Foshay. At one point it was Minneapolis' tallest building!

That IS true - as my grandma says EVERY time we drive through downtown :)

I am planning on getting a better shot of just the Foshay soon!

I'm so jealous that you get to take pictures of Minneapolis all the time! It makes me miss it so much. :) And they are fabulous photos, btw.

I laughed at your "I did not participate" reaction to the company games - I definitely could not see you doing that! :)
